Writer’s Block

Writer’s Block

Think, Kirsten, just think…

Easier said than done, I suppose.

I have very little uninterrupted time when I can sit down and write. If I find myself with an hour before I need to pick Hunter up from nursery school, I rejoice, sit myself down at the local Dunkin Donuts, take out my laptop, and… nothing.

Writer's block

15 minutes goes by; I stare at the blank page. Think. THINK!
30 minutes goes by; I’ve checked my email eight times.
45 minutes goes by; Oh my God- I can’t believe I only have 15 minutes left. Write something. Anything.

Not that.

Have they always played the music this loudly?
When did I become such a big Bieber fan that I know all the words?
Do the people sitting across the store need to speak to each other at that decibel?
Has the menu posted above the cash register always been so interesting to stare at?

I’m sorry, but I have nothing. Writer’s block sucks.

Some great advice that I’ll put into practice for next time can be found here, here, and here
